Introducing: Mac-Mac!
I haven't properly introduced him here in my blog yet. So now, I think, is a nice time to do it, since I am absolutely brimming with cutesy love for this cutesy pug (Ah, it kinda rhymes! Haha. I have it bad).
And heeeere's my Mac-Mac....
I love this dog.
Mac-Mac-y, my puggy-doggy, is my source of happiness. When I have a really bad day, seeing him as soon as I get home erases all the negative thoughts in my head. After all, how can one still have "negative thoughts" when one is preoccupied with baby-talking a dog? :p Hehe.
He sleeps with me in my room; he slobbers all over my bedroom floor; he has chewed off parts of my baseboard and my wall (yeah, he scratches the paint off with his teeth); and he has won me over with his puppy-dog looks and his winning doggie smile. :) And his weird antics are plus cutie points too. :)
Adorable isn't he? :)
Ahhh, nakakagigil. :) I love you, Macamaca!

Fanatic Me
Since I'm still on a BSB hangover (I haven't been doing anything, except stay at home and update my blog. Can you really blame me?), I thought that this would be a fun way to reminisce about my old (or still raging?) obssessions.
I'll have to warn you, though. Some of my answers are really baduy. :)
* * * *
1. Post a list of up to 20 books/movies/anime/TV shows/video games/etc. that you've had an obsessive fannish love of at some time in your life.
2. Have your friends list guess your favorite character from each item (yeah, mag-reply kayo!)
3. Post in your own journal. Not a rule really... more like a suggested course of action.
In no particular order...
1. Well, the Backstreet Boys should be an obvious answer. :) Top 1 too!
2. Meteor Garden (I was pretty late, though. Got hooked on the show when it was laos na. Wahaha)
3. F4 (Of course it has to follow MG! They have different characters naman eh. Haha)
4. Miki Loves Yuu
5. Powerpuff Girls
6. American Idol (season 4)
7. A Series of Unfortunate Events (the books)
8. The OC
9. Pinoy Big Brother (hehe. Was able to watch only after Sam got evicted, though)
10. Harry Potter books / movies
11. C.S.I (Las Vegas)
12. The Phantom of the Opera (the movie)
* * * *
My friends say that I will always be a fanatic. I guess that's a good thing? That means I get really passionate about things? Or does that mean that I care too much about things that don't (or shouldn't) really matter? Ah well. You decide.

Concert Videos!
The videos have become really grainy after I uploaded them to Vimeo...but they still look ok, I think. :p The sound isn't as sabog as I initially expected them to be, so that's a good thing. :) I've only uploaded 4 videos so far...I have a lot more, but I'll upload them on Sunday nalang when I have more time. Hehe. Sorry. :)
Check out the videos here. :)

Backstreet's Back!
I love the Backstreet Boys. Forever and ever and everrrr. :) hahaha.
I still can't believe that I watched them LIVE, in concert.
I still can't believe that they were only 10 meters from where I was standing (...and jumping around and screaming!) .
That was the best show EVER!!!
AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!

Backstreet's Back, Alrriiiiggght!
It didn't really matter that we weren't closer to the stage. Seeing them live was enough for me! Aaaah! After 10 years, they've finally come around to Manila, and I had the chance to see them! It's so nice being a fanatic talaga (in the general sense). It makes you feel young (kilig and excitement always makes you feel like a teenager!); it gives you something to look forward to; it gives you something to do, and something to really care about.

The longest love I have ever had. 10 years! Brian Littrell, you are so cute. Haha
I wouldn't mind being a fan forever. Haha. In future concerts I'll be the screaming lola that every kid secretly snickers at. Haha.
But seriously. I never had so much fun in my life! They sang all of their really nice songs...(does anyone have a complete song line-up? Send it to me please para I can relive the concert. Hahaha) And the show was never boring. 2 hours of Backstreet Boys! Still not enough!
I don't regret going...even if I had an exam that day and the next day. Hehe. :) And not just any exam, mind you...the Board Exams!!! Lakas rin ng loob ko eh, noh?
Check out the pictures here.
I'ts Finally Over!
I never EVER want to repeat that experience again. EVER! (please Lord...)
That has been the most tiring, most traumatic past few days I have ever experienced.
My back hurts (I think I am officially a humpback).
My head hurts.
I look like I could be a model for StressTabs (yung pangit, shempre).
Pero magpapa-beauty kami ni Michelle mamaya.
SPA DAY.
One last day of relaxation before going back to the real world.
Lord, bahala ka na sa amin.

*anxiety attack!!!!*
I couldn't sleep at all last night.
I was awake in bed for 3 hours, having an anxiety attack; something I haven't experienced in quite a long time. Hmm. Come to think of it, I don't even remember the last time I had one.
It's a horrible horrible (really horrible!) feeling. I couldn't breath. My stomach was in knots. My heart was pounding so hard I swear it was trying to break through my rib cage.
*anxiety attack!!!!*
And now, after only 5 hours of sleep, I'm up and about, singing "Makita Kang Muli" by Sugarfree to a house full of still-sleeping inhabitants. My eyes are watery. My stomach is still in knots (Calling Dr. Quack Quack?) At least the "heart-pounding" has subsided to a normal intensity. I'm awake at 6:30 on a Sunday morning! Weird, you say? No...just your regular
*anxiety attack!!!!*
Maybe I should lay-off on the caffeine. Brrr.
5 days to go!!!
$?!*&$^!?
*anxiety attack!!!!*

Minsan...
Pare Ko is the ultimate "bigo" song, perfect for inuman sessions: the alcohol gives you an extra oomph to shout out that essential curse in the chorus ("Diba? T*i^a, nagmukha akong tanga! Pinaasa nya lang ako..."). Magasin doesn't tell a story that anyone can particularly relate to. Unless your ex is a superstar/model/sexy star. Hehehe. But it's a fun song to sing, don't you agree? ("Iba na ang iyong ngiti, iba na ang iyong tingin...") Shirley tells the story of everyone who has fallen inlove, albeit crazily (is there any other way?), too quickly, or without any apparent reason ("The next week mag-syota na sila; magka-holding hands papunta sa C.A.S.A.A.....Ganyan ma-inlove-love-love-love-love...").
Other lyrics that most can relate to: Ligaya ("Tatlong oras na akong nagpapacute sayo, di mo man lang napapansin ang bagong t-shirt ko..."). Sembreak ("Sana ay may pasok na para at least meron nang baon..."). Torpedo ("Pasensya na kung ako ay di nagsasalita. Hindi ko kayang sabihin ang aking nadarama...")
There are a lot more. Most of the songs I mentioned are about love and admiration, but in some ways, they are also about friendships forged inspite all of the heartbreak. O wishful thinking ko lang ba yun? :p Minsan is the song that focuses entirely on friendship. Listening to it (it's my current song addiction!) I get senti everytime (Trivia: Only U.P. people know that the "Kalayaan" mentioned in the song isn't Kalayaan Avenue, but Kalayaan Hall, the dormitory for U.P. Diliman freshmen). I remember U.P. I remember Arki. I remember my whole college experience...all the good times, and all the bad times (although, I cringe everytime I remember those...).
Getting to interact with people from other schools has only convinced me that absolutely nothing compares to the U.P. experience. It's a one-sided sort of observation, as I haven't experienced college life in other schools; but I guess everyone is entitled to be fiercely proud of their alma mater. And now that I've already graduated, the feeling of nostalgia is fueling that U.P. pride even more.
Only In U.P...

...do you have to travel 2 or more kilometers to your next class, in the Ikot, Toki, or - if trip mo pumasok na basa ng pawis - on foot. I remember back in freshman year, my block had to go from AS to NIGS. We waited in line for 15 minutes, only to find out too late that we were riding the wrong jeep. Eh ang lapit lapit lang pala ng NIGS, nagjeep pa kami. :p
...do you have rallies encouraging you to boycott your class. Noone ever follows that, anyway. What, waste our tuition money by not attending class? The horror! Hahaha. (I was being sarcastic, by the way...)
...is registration/enrollment a one-week affair. Kung tumaba ka during the sembreak/summer, papayat ka rin during reg. Staying in line (in the unforgiving heat!); running from one building to another; going from one end of the campus to another, and then running all the way back again...all of this, and managing to get only 10 units.
...do you get to hang out at the tambayan during your 6-hour break between classes. Bakit ka pa uuwi diba? Mas masaya sa Arki eh.
...do you get to try out most (if not all) of the eating places in a 6-kilometer radius. Katipunan, Philcoa, SM North. Kahit West Avenue dadayuhin namin, para lang sa Keema and Shawarma. Hehehe. Food trip!
...do you get to wear ANYTHING! Pumasok ka man na nakapambahay, so what?! Nobody's gonna care! Pero shempre kung may pinopormahan ka, ibang usapan na yun...
...do you feel like you've entered a whole new city altogether. Inside the campus, you'll find a health center, a shopping center, a church (both catholic and christian), a post office, a movie theater, sports centers, a hotel. It's all in there. Airport nalang ang kulang. Hehe. A self-sustaining community, not just for students. Puwede ka nang tumira sa loob ng campus. Hehe.
...do you have the Lantern Parade! It's the most emotionally-charged day of the year for us: Christmas is only days away, it's the last day of the school year, there are dancing lanterns on the street, and thousands of people watching. What's not exciting about that? I think they changed the format this year, though. Olats! Next year sana ibalik na nila...they're messing with tradition!!! Grrr.
...do you have ducks waddling around the Lagoon. :) Block mascot! Hehe.
...do you have those really huge acacia trees all around campus. You have to admit, they're beautiful. Hard to imagine U.P. Diliman without them. Kaya masarap magpaka-senti sa AF tambayan noon eh...view mo kasi yung treetops. Green against a startling blue sky. Nice.
O. Wala kayo jan.
U.P. the best. Hehe.

U.P grads, can you relate? :)
Jose Dalisay Jr., PhD
Address to the Graduating Class
UP Baguio, 23 April 2005
"...You are UP because you can think and speak for yourselves, by your own wits and on your own two feet, and you can do so no matter what the rest of the people in the room may be thinking. You are UP because no one can tell you to shut up, if you have something sensible and vital to say. You are UP because you dread not the poverty of material comforts but the poverty of the mind. And you are UP because you care about something as abstract and sometimes as treacherous as the idea of "nation," even if it kills you.
Sometimes, long after UP, we forget these things and become just like everybody else; I certainly have. Even so, I suspect that that forgetfulness is laced with guilt - the guilt of knowing that you were, and could yet become, somebody better. And you cannot even argue that you did not know, because today, I just told you so."

*Woosh*
7:35 a.m. - Arrival at LRT Line 2, Santolan Station
8:05 a.m. - Arrival at Recto Station
8:05 to 8:15 a.m. - Walk from Recto Station to Carriedo
8:15 a.m. - Arrival at NBI Clearance Center
*woosh*
8:45 a.m. - Mission Accomplished. NBI Clearance obtained
9:10 a.m. - Arrival at Recto Station
*woosh*
9:55 a.m. - HOME!
Asteeg. Ang bilis. No hassle, minimal expenses. If I had taken a car, as originally planned, I would still be stuck in traffic somewhere. Imagine...from Santolan (Pasig/Marikina) to Recto (Manila) and back, with the NBI bureaucracy in between, in less than 2 hours! In Manila traffic, that has got to be some sort of miracle.
Too bad the MRT isn't as nice as the LRT-2.

I was able to watch Constantine's concert.
I was able to get his autograph.
I was able to shake his hand.
And I've got pictures and videos to prove it! (well, except for the shaking of the hands part...)
Check 'em out at My Multiply Site

I can't wait to see him up close (please please let me see him up close!).
I can't wait to watch him perform LIVE! (ack! live smoldering looks! live sexy pouts! live sex appeal!!! ack!)
AAH.
I can't breathe. Hahaha.
CONSTANTINE MAROULIS.
Here.
In Manila.
AAAAAAH!

Note: There's a discrepancy between the article below and the posters around Greenbelt. According to the article, Constantine will be appearing at Greenbelt Park on Nov. 16. According to the posters, it's November 17. I'll be there both days just to be sure. Hahaha. But I'm betting on November 17. :D

Editor’s Note: Published on page A2-2 of the November 13, 2005 issue of the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
THE ONLY WAY HIS FILIPINO fans can see the wildly popular “American Idol” finalist Constantine Maroulis when he visits Manila next week is to turn up at the Ayala Malls.
“There are no TV appearances in his itinerary. I suggest fans go straight to the malls and see him in the flesh,” said Cathy Bengzon, ad and promo head of Ayala Land, sponsor of Constantine’s five-day RP tour.
The charismatic rocker is scheduled to arrive tomorrow from the United States on board a Philippine Airlines flight.
A meet-and-greet with the local press in Makati City is set in the same afternoon. At 5 p.m., Constantine will lead Ayala Center’s Tree-lighting Ceremony at the Greenbelt Park.
He is also here to promote the album “Killer Queen: A Tribute to Queen,” under the Sony BMG label, where he sings “Bohemian Rhapsody” as one of the featured artists.
Tuesday will be Constantine’s rehearsal day. The names of the musicians he will perform with have not been disclosed.
First in the series titled “Constantine Maroulis Live at Ayala Malls” will be at the Greenbelt Park of the Ayala Center in Makati City on Wednesday, 8 p.m.
Airport security
On Thursday at 7 p.m., he will be at the Alabang Town Center. The next day, Nov. 18, he will fly to Cebu to perform at the Ayala Mall at the Cebu Business District.
Just like what happened when Pinoy “American Idol (2004)” finalist Jasmine Trias first visited the country in October last year, fans are expected to troop to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport to get a glimpse of their idol.
Bengzon said her group had made arrangements with airport officials to avoid a repeat of the incident that involved Jasmine. Because of the large crowd at the airport, the petite singer from Hawaii got separated from her father, Rudy, on the way to the exits.
“Constantine will arrive really early,” explained Bengzon. “He may not be ready to face his fans at that time. We’re%2

Wala Lang
During the past 2 months I have gotten bangs...and I had my hair colored. Hahaha.
I got so bored with my hair, I guess. I needed a change. And since my friends won't let me cut my hair too short again, I had to do something different! Not dramatically different. Nothing wild or anything. But at least it's something new...
Next thing you know, I'll be getting a tattoo on my lower back.
Hehe. JUST KIDDING.
Ako pa. I have a fear of needles. Brrr.
Gah. I'm bored. Give me something to do before I decide to suddenly color my hair blue or something. Hehehe. :)

3 a.m.
Right now, my cutey-puggy Mac-Mac is walking (waddling?) around the living room with his squeaky toy clamped in his mouth. Hehehe. Adorable.
The problem with being awake in the wee hours of the morning is that everyone else is asleep (no duh!). And that means that I have no one to talk to/chat with, and the silence is making me praning. Makes me want to go to sleep again. But I can't because I've been asleep for 8 hours straight already. Wah, this sucks.
Hmm. I can hear the sound of rustling paper from the living room. Mac is chewing on loose paper once agan. Argh. That dog talaga. Naughty little weirdo. But still adorable. :)
Oh well.
Excuse me while I go back to doing nothing.

Where Is My Passion?
It got me into thinking though...What am I passionate about?
I don't have any big hobbies...no sports...
Good grief, I'm not even passionate about architecture. If I'm not passionate about my chosen career, then where do I expect to end up in a few years after I'm all burnt out and bitter? :(
If I don't believe in what I do for a living, then what the hell am I doing??? I'm half-hearted. Cynical. Hesitant.
How depressing.
Where is my passion?

Ah Ewan
and the reasons we fake it
bring us farther apart
from the love that we make
as the poisonous time
leaves us gasping for air
we run for the past
but we're already there..."

If Baby's Gone
Overall, a very sad song.
However, not at all sappy, or mushy.
Alternative all the way, without the slightest hint of bubble gum pop.
I love it.
Do me a favor and download it.

If Baby's Gone
by Athenaeum
Baby don't give a damn about me
Why would she ever need to
Cause she's got everything without me
I'm just a rock in her shoe
But then she draws me near to whisper in her ear
I say the things that baby likes to hear
Baby won't put her arms around me
I think she's embarrassed to say
That she's been down ever since she found me
I'm just a lull in her day
But there's nothing she could do that would break my heart in two
Cause baby's got a way of keeping you
And there is nothing she could say
That would push my love away
If baby's gone then I don't wanna stay
Please don't make me live without her
I've lived a life where nothing\s real and nothing matters
Please you can make it easy on me
But then she draws me near to whisper in her ear
I say the things that baby likes to hear
And there's nothing she could say that would push my love away
If baby's gone then I don't wanna stay
