It's difficult to understand how there are some people out there who don't believe that God - or any other higher being - exists.
How uninspiring it must feel to see beautiful sunsets, the turquoise sea, and silvery moonlights, thinking that they are products of atoms instead of believing that they are miracles.
How unfulfilling it must be like to live your life day after day, believing that there is no heaven to look forward to after death.
And how lonely it must feel to suffer, to feel pain, to cry, thinking that you are all alone in your grief.
For who else, but God (or the god you believe in), can really be with you in all your sad moments?
Who else, but God, knows the exact moment when your heart breaks?
Who else, but God, knows exactly how it feels?
Who else, but God, understands?

just because some people doesn't believe in god doesn't mean hindi sila makaka-appreciate ng sunset. a miracle doesn't stop at the definition na its made by a supernatural being. yung maganda nga dun, you strive to study nature more, kasi naaappreciate mo yung fact na from small uninteresting atoms and whatnot, nabubuo lahat nga magandang bagay sa paligid mo. at saka naaappreciate mo yung fact na everything you do will have some effect on your environment dahil lahat ng bagay sakop ng law of physics. or chemistry. hehe ;p yung idea ng heaven ang pinakamalabo sakin. don't you think that people who don't believe in heaven are more selfless [good?] than those who do?? we help other people because we see that they need help and we know we can give it, without expecting to have some kind of reward after this life is over. while if you really think about it, kung gagawa ka lang ng mabuti dahil gusto mong mapunta sa langit pag namatay ka, di ba medyo twisted yun??

honestly, medyo na-off ako sa entry mo na to. napaka-condescending kasi na parang, how poor you people who don't believe in god and dating. yeah, to each his own, pero para maging ganun, you have to respect other people's view without passing judgement na mas mabuti yung sayo...

ReplyDeletehmm...i wrote this not to be condescending, really. Actually, di ko rin sure kung bakit ko to sinulat. Haha. Nagpapakasenti kasi ako sa room ko, kind of feeling sorry for myself, and the only thought that comforted is the thought that God (and my guardian angel hehe) is with me at that moment.
I mean, hindi lang kay God, shempre. Iba iba naman tayo ng religion eh, pero pare pareho lang na may pinaniniwalaan.
*shrug* Di ko lang kasi alam kung paano ang feeling ng mga aetheists sa mga moments na ganun. Kung magisa sila, kung wala silang pinaniniwalaan na kahit ano, kanino sila humihingi ng comfort? Ano yung foundation nila?
Ah, tsaka yung tinutukoy ko dun sa heaven thingie, si Miranda sa sex and the city. Haha. Kasi ang belief nya, walang afterlife, we just live life, die, and that's it. I wasn't thinking of heaven as a reward, really...more of, the belief that there is more to life than what is on Earth. Na may purpose tayo sa buhay other than to die at the end. And that death is not really the end of it all...
Hahaha. Marami tayong hindi pinagkakasunduan na issue, kaya ang saya isipin na kahit ganun ang case, friends parin tayo. Hahaha. Mwah!

ReplyDeletekung nagawa mo na lahat ng gusto at kailangan mong gawin sa buhay na to, if you've given all that you can give and experience lahat ng posible mong ma-experience in your life time, hindi mo na kailangan pa ng 'comforting' thought na may afterlife. :) basta alam mo na you gave it your all, okay na yun. yun na nga yung purpose natin s alife eh, yung maka-iwan tayo ng mark dito, no matter how little... hindi ko kasi ma-gets yung 'more to life than what is on earth' di ba yun na nga yun?
hehe yun ata actually ang nakaka-pagsabi na talagang friends tayo. kahit anong pag-disagree natin sa sangkatutak na bagay sa mundong to, gusto pa din natin ang isa't-isa. hehe :p
